The collection of ancient books and coins was discovered by border guards together with customs officers on the border with Poland and Moldova

A citizen of Ukraine tried to take out the old prints through the checkpoint “Krakivets”, and the coins were exported by a Chinese citizen through the checkpoint “Starokozache”.

During the conversation, the 43-year-old explained that the books she was carrying were from her husband's collection and that she allegedly did not know that they could be of cultural or historical value. Among the books found are antiquities of church character - the handwritten Bible (date of writing is unknown), the printed Bible (1823), “Paradise Lost” (1897), “Sermons” by James Foster (1794).

Also, objects that may be of cultural or historical value, border guards of the Belgorod-Dnestrovsky detachment found at the checkpoint “Starokozache”, located on the border with Moldova.

The passenger of the regular bus was a Chinese citizen who was carrying the things. During the examination of his personal belongings, 70 coins of white metal, previously silver, 1921 - 1930 years of issue, as well as 16 medals of the times of the Soviet Union were discovered.

The 24-year-old foreign student explained that the collection was allegedly given to him by a friend who bought them in one of the markets in the Kiev region and asked to take them home.

Things that may constitute cultural and historical value are removed. Examination is ongoing.
