This was announced by the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs today, October 25, on the air of the Unified News tele-marathon.

According to Yevgeny Yenin, in recent months there has been no increase in crime, neither in the Transcarpathian region, which received many of our citizens, nor in Lviv region or other western regions of the state.

“For example, registered statements and reports of crimes in Transcarpathia, compared to last year, are down by almost 10%. In Lviv, it is less than 20%. In general, the indicator for the consideration of applications and reports of criminal offenses and other events decreased by 25%. That is, there is no reason to believe that the increase in the number of people in the western regions has negatively affected the overall criminogenic situation. It has a negative dynamic, that is, the number of notifications is decreasing, and it has been so all eight months since the start of the large-scale invasion,” the First Deputy Minister of Interior said.

However, as Yevgeny Yenin noted, there is a certain increase in the number of traffic accidents.

“It cannot be said that this is a sustainable trend. However, 705 accidents occurred on highways last day, killing 19 and injuring 173 people. Therefore, drivers and pedestrians should be careful, and too under the conditions of forced switching off of street lighting,” the official warned.

In addition, Yevgeny Yenin once again focused on the need to refrain from visiting wooded areas, or moving outside the asphalt roads, given the large-scale pollution of a third of the state's territory with explosive objects and the duration of demining work. He reminded Ukrainians that in case of detection of suspicious objects, you should immediately call the emergency numbers of the State Emergency Service or the National Police. Or report a dangerous “find” using the interactive application “De-mining Ukraine”, which has already been used by several thousand Ukrainians.
