Number of cases of carbon monoxide poisoning in Ukraine is growing — Yevhenii Yenin
As reported today, December 22, the First Deputy Minister of the Interior, the statistics are very sad. In the broadcast of the “Yedini Novosti” tele-marathon, he warned Ukrainians to be vigilant in using all alternative sources of electricity and heating.
“In just one month — in November — about 370 cases of carbon monoxide poisoning were recorded. Literally in the first week of December, there were already about 100 such cases. Most cases were recorded in Lviv, Kiev, Dnipropetrovsk regions,” Yevhenii Yenin said.
However, he said, in addition to carbon monoxide poisoning, there are other threats when using alternative heating means, the misuse of which leads to explosions or fires.
“The other day in Kiev on the 13th floor in one of the apartments there was an explosion of two uninterruptible power units charged from the mains. After that, a fire broke out, which could only be eliminated within an hour. Fortunately, people were not hurt. Another case occurred in Volyn in the city of Novovolynsk, where a tourist gas cylinder exploded in the apartment, which caused the apartment to be occupied. As a result of the explosion, two people received bodily injuries,” the first deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs cited several tragic examples.
He once again emphasized that it is necessary to be extremely cautious in the operation of devices, which in today's circumstances associated with the military aggression of the Russian Federation have become indispensable.
