Internet attackers embezzle money under the guise of providing payments to Ukrainians affected by the war.

Scammers spread fake information about social benefits by creating clone pages of state organizations, state leadership, representatives of the UN, the Red Cross, charitable foundations, banks, etc. For the implementation of the crime, phishing is mostly used.

Citizens are offered to enter personal data and a bank card number allegedly for crediting money. However, the information entered on such resources automatically becomes known to attackers. Having the data of bank cards of citizens, they appropriate money from accounts.

Cyberpolice urges citizens to be vigilant and advises:

- receive information, especially regarding financial payments, only from official sources;

- do not follow dubious hyperlinks;

- not to disclose confidential information, including bank card data, to third parties;

- in case of suspected fraudulent actions - immediately notify law enforcement agencies.

Please note that official pages of government bodies, charitable organizations, banking structures in instant messengers and social networks must be verified (contain a ✔️ mark).
