Cyberpolice exposed attackers who searched for military and volunteers
Those involved in social networks sold non-existent military uniforms and generators. They asked for a full prepayment for the goods, and after receiving the money, they disappeared. For their actions, they face up to eight years in prison.
The criminal offense was exposed by the employees of the department of combating cybercrimes in the Nikolaev area together with the investigators of the police department No. 1 of the Voznesensky district police department.
Two residents of the village of Bratskoe in social networks created so-called online stores. They targeted the demands of the population and offered goods in demand, including military tactical clothing and generators. Advertising was used to promote Internet pages.
The condition of the purchase was a full prepayment on bank cards. However, having received money, the men did not fulfill their obligations. Customers were told that they still need to wait, because the goods are delivered from abroad. In the future, criminals blocked buyers.
According to preliminary data, dozens of military and volunteers were searched for the defendants. Currently, law enforcement officials establish the amount of damage.
In the home of the offenders, the police conducted a search, seized mobile phones, SIM cards and “rough” records.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated in accordance with Part 3 of Art. 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code. The sanction of the article provides for up to 8 years in prison. The issue of declaring suspicion and choosing a precautionary measure for suspects is being resolved.
