Cyberpolice exposed a hacker who sold his developments to other attackers
The man developed an Obfuscated Web Backdoor type program to encrypt software code and modified malware to remotely control web resources. Thus, the development of the defendant made it possible to hide malware on the affected resource and leave control over it invisible to the owner. The illegal activities of the 27-year-old resident of Chernivtsi were exposed by employees of the Cyber Police Department together with the Main Investigative Department of the National Police.
He sold the malicious program on thematic forums. Later, the development was used by other hackers to attack foreign campaigns and further commit cybercrimes.
In parallel, the defendant used another program that artificially increased the ranking and search performance of the web page bypassing the rules for the use and promotion of web resources by search engines.
In the residence of the defendant, police officers conducted a search, seized computer equipment, which was transferred for examination. The suspect may face up to five years in prison.
