Cyber police exposed a fraudster who sold non-existent ammunition to the military
The attacker in the social network Instagram followed the official page of the store, tracking potential buyers of tactical equipment and subsequently wrote to them on behalf of the manager. The man demanded prepayment from customers, after which he could no longer contact them. The intruder searched at least 8 servicemen.
Investigators of the Podolsk Police Department, with the prompt support of criminal police officers, employees of the Cyber Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine, exposed the defendant who set up an illegal enrichment scheme by deceiving the military into selling the ammunition they need.
In order to establish a more trusting relationship, the suspect offered customers discounts if they provided them with supporting documents on service in a particular unit. After paying part of the amount of funds for the “goods”, the defendant disappeared. Currently, the pre-trial investigation has established that the violator searched at least 8 servicemen for the amount of about 60,000 hryvnias.
Police officers with the strong support of special officers of the regiment No. 1 detained the man. The issue of choosing a precautionary measure is being resolved. The sanction of the article provides for up to eight years in prison.
