Cyberpolice exposed Odessa provider in providing subscribers with access to Russian content

Despite the ban, the company provided unhindered access to broadcast propaganda TV channels and Internet resources of the Russian Federation and the so-called “LDPR”. For such actions, the defendants may face up to 12 years in prison. The illegal activities were exposed by employees of the Department of Cyberpolice together with the Main Investigation Department

of the National Police, employees of the SBU regional administration and the Office of the Prosecutor General.

Despite the ban of the RNBOU, the company did not block the content of the aggressor country. Instead, the employees of the enterprise configured their equipment in such a way that users could easily access television, Internet resources of the Russian Federation and the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. The connection service cost 3000 hryvnias and in the future, users paid 250 hryvnias monthly subscription fee.

The company has also participated from 2016 to the present in public procurement for the provision of services for government institutions and military units of the Odessa region.

In the office of the enterprise and the locations of the equipment, law enforcement officers conducted searches. Telecommunication devices were removed and traffic was fixed.

Also during the search, law enforcement officers found a device that provided wireless data exchange with the Transnistrian republic, it was placed 4 km from the state border on the roof of one of the buildings.

Specialists of the Ukrainian State Center of Radio Frequencies and specialists of the NDEKC of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine were involved in the investigation.

Criminal proceedings have been opened in accordance with Art. 27, part 2 of Art. 110 (Invasion of the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine) part 6 of Art. 111-1 (Collaborative activity) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigative actions continue.
