The leadership of the National Police and the US delegation discussed documenting Russian war crimes in Ukraine
Yesterday, May 19, the leadership of the National Police of Ukraine met with the delegation of the US State Department and the US Embassy in Ukraine.
During the meeting, material and technical support, training of personnel of various units of the National Police, as well as assistance for organizing humanitarian demining of de-occupied territories were discussed.
The National Police noted that within the framework of international cooperation, foreign partners systematically provide material and technical assistance to Ukrainian police officers. In particular, to investigative units involved in the documentation and investigation of war crimes, as well as to explosives that depopulate de-occupied territories.
Thanks to the provided technical means and special work, demining has become safer for Ukrainian police officers.
Joint projects on the implementation of material and technical assistance and training of patrol police personnel, community police officers, prevention units, as well as cyber police are also successfully ongoing.
Representatives of the National Police thanked foreign partners for the strong and consistent support provided by the United States of America.
They noted that all war crimes of the Russian Federation are carefully documented and become the basis for the work of international and Ukrainian justice bodies.
In turn, the American partners stressed that Ukrainian police daily carry out tremendous work on documenting and investigating war crimes and noted that they will continue to support the National Police.
As you know, since the beginning of the war, the Law Enforcement Division of the US Embassy in Ukraine (INL) has transferred tens of millions of US dollars worth of property to the National Police. In addition, thousands more units of special equipment, protective equipment, vehicles, equipment for quick installation and comparison of DNA profiles are in the procurement process.
