The ecocide that the Russian army is committing on Ukrainian soil is a crime against our planet and future generations. This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko during a meeting with representatives of foreign diplomatic institutions accredited in our country on the construction of a system for the implementation of the Peace Formula, initiated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

“As a result of the terrorist attack, 11 spans of the upper part of the dam with 28 were destroyed. 3 engine rooms of the hydroelectric power plant leaked 150 tons of lubricant. Kakhovsk hydroelectric power plant is no longer subject to restoration,” Igor Klymenko stressed.

180 settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions fell into the emergency zone. There lived an estimated 875 thousand inhabitants. At least 34 people were killed, another 28 were injured. 39 people are considered missing. Almost four thousand people and hundreds of pets were taken out of the 3 flooded areas. During the rescue operation, 716 people were rescued in the affected areas, including 30 children and 40 people with reduced mobility.

More than two thousand people, three hundred units of equipment and more than a hundred vessels were involved daily in the elimination of the consequences of the Russian terrorist attack. And even during the rescue operation and evacuation of the population, the occupiers repeatedly opened fire on people. One rescuer was killed, 16 employees of other services were wounded.

11,000 apartments and two and a half thousand private houses in the affected areas were surveyed by the National Police. The explosion of the station led to problems with water supply in the south of our state. Nearly 700,000 Ukrainians were left without access to drinking water. The regular delivery of water to the affected areas was managed by the forces of the internal affairs system. This process involved 75 units of equipment.

As a result of the Russian occupiers blowing up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, the mine danger to the coast increased several times. Most of the mines were carried by water after the explosion of the hydroelectric power plant. Recorded cases of spontaneous detonation during the mine flow. Directly in the Odessa and Nikolaev regions. There they also recorded the nailing to the shore of such mines.

In addition, the Minister of Internal Affairs noted that the most important threat to Ukraine and the world now exists around the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant. Igor Klymenko also thanked the partner countries for their assistance in the total amount of 136 million hryvnias. Equipment transferred by partners helped evacuate people, pump water from flooded houses, provide people with drinking water and electricity, and eliminate the effects of Russian missile strikes.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs added that the actions of the Russians threaten not only Ukraine. “In order to stop Russian terror, we need a special formula. And this is the Ukrainian formula for peace,” concluded the Minister of Internal Affairs.
