Children of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who are involved in repelling the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, will go to Spain this year for rest and recuperation. According to the results of a meeting with the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Spain at the Embassy of Spain in Ukraine Jose Alonso Albert, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ekaterina Pavlichenko announced this.

“From the first days of the war, Spain has supported Ukraine and our people. Tens of thousands of displaced Ukrainians have found shelter in Spain. Today, Mr. Alonso expressed readiness to take for rest and recuperation the children of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs who are involved in repelling the armed aggression of the Russian Federation,” she said.

Also, Ekaterina Pavlichenko added that Spain has a strong experience in the fight against gender-based violence. The country has the lowest rate in Europe among women affected by domestic violence. This result was preceded by a whole range of strategically important steps, including the introduction of electronic means of controlling offenders and the implementation of the rules of the Istanbul Convention.

She recalled that this year, during a full-scale war, Ukraine ratified the Council of Europe Convention on the prevention of violence against women. Active work is now underway to bring Ukrainian legislation into line with the norms of the Convention. At this stage, it is important to adopt the successful experience of other countries.

“Ukraine is grateful to Spain for its support in the most difficult times. This is what real friends do!”, - summed up Pavlichenko.
