Categories of persons crossing the border: infographics from the State Border Guard Service
During the last period, about 100-110 thousand people cross the state border of Ukraine every day in both directions.
Prior to this, the number of people ranged from 85 to 90 thousand. At the same time, due to the beginning of the summer season, there is an increase in people, primarily women and children, who go abroad for the purpose of recreation, participation in various educational and sports events, etc.
Analysis of previous months on the category of Ukrainian men aged 18-60 who crossed the western border, shows that the vast majority of them, 45%, are drivers of vehicles of economic entities that carry out international transportation of goods and passengers and which are entered into the “Shlyakh” system. 16% are parents with large children and people with disabilities, about 7% are unfit for military service. Another 6% are men who cross the border to carry out the transportation of humanitarian goods for the needs of military formations and the population of Ukraine and who are also included in the “Shlyakh” system. Smaller percentages have other persons who are allowed to cross the border, in particular those who provide accompaniment to persons with disabilities, those who are on business trips from a defined category of civil service and who are booked by public authorities, those who raise a child with a disability, or independently raise a child of age up to 18 years, etc.
Particular attention should be paid to the persons entered into the “Path” system. According to the State Fiscal Service, the departments of the department are not administrators of this system. At the same time, it was the border guards who recorded the abuse of the conditions of departure in this direction. Therefore, border guards carefully check the purpose of the trip and the presence of grounds for crossing the border for such persons, in particular, the presence of supporting documents, letters from enterprises, institutions, organizations, humanitarian aid carriers, in the case of humanitarian aid carriers. If the purpose of the trip is not confirmed, the authorized officials of the State Border Guard Service refuse persons to cross the state border.
