On July 26, 2023, on the eve of the Day of Baptism of Kievan Rus-Ukraine, there was a solemn presentation of mandates for the right of chaplaincy to representatives of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, who will hold the positions of military chaplains in the National Guard of Ukraine.

The delegation of mandates was headed by Metropolitan Epiphany, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

During the meeting, the acting deputy commander of the NGU Colonel Valentyn Ostryzhny addressed the attending chaplains, who stressed the importance of the development of the chaplaincy in the National Guard, thanked the chaplains for their sacrificial work and the constant support of the personnel.

“The ministry of priests to support the defenders of the Motherland is a big deal, especially at the present time when the Russian aggressor is trying to destroy everything Ukrainian. I am grateful to everyone who worthily performs this high service and sustains the spirit of our glorious and sacrificial warriors. With God's help, let us continue to work actively and sincerely pray, because victory depends on each of us, who does everything possible in his place to achieve it,” said Metropolitan Epiphany.

After the solemn presentation of the chaplaincy mandates in memory of the meeting with his Beatitude Epiphany, unusual souvenirs reflecting the struggle of the guards and the Ukrainian people for the independence of the State were handed over.
