Canada is steadfast in supporting Ukraine and is one of our key partners in confronting the enemy, - Kateryna Pavlichenko
This was emphasized by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, who announced on her Facebook page about today's meeting with Ms. Larisa Galadza, the Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine. Together with representatives of the Ukrainian Association of Representatives of Law Enforcement Agencies - UAPPO, who work and serve in the National Police of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the State Border Service of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine, the participants of the meeting discussed topical issues.
As Kateryna Pavlichenko noted, with the outbreak of a full-scale war, Ukrainians were united like never before. And this is the greatest force that impresses and inspires the entire world community:
“We talked about what has changed in the activities of the UAPPO with the beginning of the Russian invasion, as well as in general about the work of all units of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the conditions of a full-scale war. This is the evacuation of civilians, and the demining of territories, the performance of combat tasks, and law enforcement activities.”
The participants of the meeting paid special attention to how women in the service combine the protection of the country and their families. The mechanisms for the return of prisoners and the issue of control by international organizations under the conditions in which they are held were also discussed.
“Ms. Ambassador told us about our plans to create a coalition of NGOs that, together with the public sector, will promote the ideas of gender equality and the prevention of violence against women. Despite all the challenges and threats, the country works and fights. This is the merit of all our people, as well as our friends. We are grateful to the Canadian partners for their principled and comprehensive assistance on the way to our common goal — to stop the bloody war,” added Ekaterina Pavlichenko.
