The Cabinet of Ministers amended the order “On the approval of the Integrated Border Management Strategy for the period up to 2025”
The draft order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has been developed in order to fulfill the tasks of Ukraine's acquisition of membership in the European Union, the adoption of a complex of urgent measures aimed at overcoming the consequences of the full-scale armed invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, ensuring readiness for the protection of the external borders of the EU within the state border Ukraine after its acquisition of full membership in the EU.
Amendments have been made to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated July 24, 2019 No. 687 “On Approval of the Integrated Border Management Strategy for the period up to 2025” in the part of replacing the words in the corresponding cases: “state border” to “state border of Ukraine”; “checkpoints” to “checkpoints across the state border of Ukraine”; “the borders of the EU within the state border of Ukraine after the acquisition of full membership in the EU” to “the borders of the European Union within the state border of Ukraine after the acquisition of full membership in the European Union”, etc.
The implementation of the draft act will contribute to the achievement of the priority of the Program of Activities of the Cabinet of Ministers “18.2. Reliable protection of the state border and convenient service during its crossing.”
Also in order to update the data, it is proposed to instruct the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs to clarify the number of working and closed checkpoints as of July 20, 2023.
The implementation of the draft act does not require additional material and other costs from the State Budget of Ukraine.
