European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Janez Lenarchych thanked Ukraine for its assistance to Slovenia
He wrote about it on his official Twitter page.
Recall that on the night of August 3 to 4, 2023, in some regions of the Republic of Slovenia, significant precipitation in the form of rains began, which led to large-scale flooding of the territory and landslides.
According to preliminary data, 6 people were killed, 23 people were injured, thousands of residents were evacuated, houses, roads were destroyed, transport connections and electricity supplies were disrupted.
In turn, the Government of Slovenia has appealed for international assistance through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism and the Euro-Atlantic Coordination Centre for the Response to Natural Disasters and Disasters.
It is known that Ukrainian rescuers have already gone to Slovenia to cope with the consequences of a massive flood. We are talking about more than 50 specialists of the State Emergency Service and 19 units of equipment.
