Yevhenii Yenin: Since September 7, 530 bodies of civilians have been discovered in the de-occupied territories of Kharkiv region
Most of them show signs of violent death. This was stated on the air of the UAtogether tele-marathon by First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Yevgeny Yenin.
“Since September 7 and as of today, 530 bodies of civilians have already been discovered in the de-occupied territories of Kharkiv region. It is established that all these people died during the period of temporary occupation and as a result of criminal actions of the enemy army. Of these, 225 are women, 257 are men and 19 children and another 29 are not identified. If we talk about the total number of civilians killed as a result of the military aggression of the Russian Federation in the Kharkiv region, today it is 1350 people and this figure is increasing almost every day,” Yevgeny Yenin said.
The first deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also noted that 447 bodies of the dead were recovered from mass graves in the city of Izyum.
“215 bodies of women were identified, 194 were men. The bodies of 22 military personnel and five children were found, as well as probably 11 human remains, the sex of which is currently undetermined. Investigators have appointed almost 500 forensic examinations to determine the cause of death, the presence of bodily injuries and, possibly, signs that will help the identified persons. There are preliminary signs of violent death in a considerable number of bodies,” he said.
According to Yevgeny Yenin, gunshot wounds were found in 15 people, explosive injuries of varying degrees in about 60 people, signs of torture - in another 15 people, this is a rope around the neck and tied hands behind their backs, bullet wounds to the knees, fractures of ribs. Another 13 bodies show signs of violent death — broken jaws or stab wounds.
Separately, the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs noted that the local population actively provides screenings for collaborators.
“To date, we have found only in certain cities, in particular in Kupyansk, lists of persons who performed organizational and administrative functions of the occupation authorities. There were about 400 surnames, some of them had to flee with the occupiers, some of them had already reached the law enforcement agencies. And this process continues, regardless of the location of these persons, Ukrainian justice will achieve its goal,” Yevhenii Yenin summed up.
