This was announced today, August 10, during a briefing at the Ukraine-Ukrinform Media Center, the First Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine Mykhailo Kuznetsov and the Head of the Cyber Police Department Yuriy Vyhodets.

According to the head of the cyber police, more than 300 enemy attacks have been prevented at the stage of their preparation. Also, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies of Ukraine, 83 cyberattacks were repelled.

Among the main achievements of the unit in the conditions of martial law are the identification of more than 12,700 Russian servicemen and verification of their involvement in committing war crimes on the territory of Ukraine, as well as the establishment of more than 850 propagandists of the “Russian measure”.

“Within the framework of international cooperation with foreign law enforcement agencies and cryptocurrency exchanges, we have carried out a set of measures to detect and stop the movement of crypto assets that are used to support propaganda activities, financing entities associated with the Russian Federation, which are included in the sanctions lists. The result of such cooperation is the blocking of about 120 crypto wallets,” said Yuriy Vychodets.

He also said that since the beginning of the martial law, the cyber police have identified 50 collaborators, 44 of whom have already been reported suspected. Since the beginning of the year, the cyber police have also stopped the activities of 8 hackers who carried out unauthorized interference with public and private information systems, distributed malware and information with restricted access.

An important area of work of the unit remains the fight against the creation and distribution of child pornography. This year, cyberpolice exposed 18 pedophiles who created and distributed illegal content involving children. 35 children aged 2 to 14 years were affected by the actions of these attackers. According to the results of the investigative actions, 20 TB of illegal content was seized. In addition, 40 individuals were exposed who sold, downloaded and accessed child pornography.

The speaker also reported on the results of combating fraud committed using information technology: 171 people were informed of suspicions. The total amount of damage caused to the victim is more than 46.5 million UAH.

First Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine Mykhailo Kuznetsov spoke about the importance of cooperation between law enforcement officers and citizens. In particular, he noted that thanks to the project “Mriya” developed by the cyber police, it is possible to successfully counteract the Internet propaganda of the enemy.

“From the first days of the war, the “Dream” project has been running on Telegram. The greatest strength of this community is the followers, thanks to which it manages to successfully block and counteract Russian aggression on the Internet. So far, the project has united almost 250 thousand users, who have blocked more than 4700 hostile resources with a total audience of about 35 million followers,” Mikhail Kuznetsov said.

At the end of the briefing, the police summed up the results of the contest and identified the users of “Dreams” who were the most active in blocking fakes and propaganda on the Internet.
