The love story of border guards who returned from Russian captivity
A couple of lovers of border guards — Alina and Ilya were captured during the defense of Mariupol.
The girl was released from captivity in October 2022 and since then she has been waiting for her beloved to return home. During this long period, there was no news from him. But on January 3, 2024, a bell sounded and in a few seconds the native and long-awaited “This is me...” was heard.
“All the time I was in captivity, I thought and knew the phone numbers for memory who I would need to call first. When I got off the bus, I approached the person and asked for the phone, and I looked at that phone for another three seconds and thought how to press me,” the man recalls.
Ilya is currently undergoing rehabilitation and finally has the opportunity to hold his bride's hand firmly. About the difficult trials and the first emotions of the meeting - in the video.
