Spartan Brigade instructors train the soldiers of the “Guards of the Offensive”
Volunteers of the “Guard of the Offensive” in Kharkiv region continue to undergo intensive military training. Instructors of the 3rd operational brigade “Spartan” of the National Guard of Ukraine prepare assault units.
Training is carried out with large-caliber weapons, in particular machine guns. Soldiers study the tactics of actions of a machine gunner in various combat conditions, learn how to choose the right position and carry out camouflage, perform training exercises with regular weapons.
“At the training ground, together with the instructors, we train the personnel, namely, we prepare them for offensive actions with the use of large-caliber weapons. Before firing with personnel, several classes were held to study this weapon, its features, troubleshooting methods, minuses and pros, and how best to use them. Today we are already practicing shooting exercises on real ammunition,” said the soldier Houston.
The situation in the classes is as close as possible to the combat one. The task of the instructors is to prepare the fighters as efficiently as possible so that they are able to respond to any scenarios of the development of combat clashes.
“Currently, we are conducting training firing from DSHK and PKM machine guns, AGS grenade launchers, GP-25, RPG-7 and anti-aircraft installation. The fighters had a theoretical course before this. Now, after a week of theory, we went to the training ground to fire these types of weapons. There are a lot of trophy weapons - the PKM machine gun is also a trophy, we immediately work out the problems on this type of weapons that may arise during the battle and this significantly increases the level of our professionalism,” the serviceman noted under the pseudonym Yozh.
“Working with this type of weapon is extremely difficult, requires manual guidance and maximum concentration,” the national guard shares, “The role of a machine gunner in solving a combat task is very significant. He must be ready to open fire in the most important direction at any time of the day and under any circumstances, and most importantly, analyze and adjust the results of the firing.”
The training is rich, special attention is also paid to the training of gunners, in addition to mathematical skills, the anti-aircraft guns must have a cold calculation in order to skillfully destroy all kinds of targets on the ground and in the air space. The ZU-23-2, which is in the service of the military unit, is used to destroy ground light armored targets, helicopters, aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles and has already shown its effectiveness since the beginning of a full-scale invasion in the Kharkiv and Luhansk directions.
