Igor Klymenko: All response protocols have been changed, starting from what should be the body armor on our emergency rescuers
This was stated by the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko in an exclusive interview to the National Telemarathon “United News”.
Russia has changed the algorithm of strikes on Ukraine, on Ukrainian energy, and people do not always have time to respond to the alert system. Enemy strikes are insidious at any time.
“We have completely reviewed the instructions for the use of the forces of the State Emergency Service. This applies to engineering equipment, special equipment and our rescuers. It is simply responding to the challenges of life, to the challenges of this war. Because of our mistakes in the first months of the war, because of the death of our colleagues, our brothers — we write out these rules and continue to write today,” the Minister said.
Also, Igor Klymenko stressed during the interview that the number of rescuers engaged in high-altitude work has increased. At the beginning of this year there were 150, and now there are already 500. In particular, the units dealing with the elimination of effects on oil and gas facilities have been increased.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine is also involved in helping local authorities to prepare the second and third lines of defense. Igor Klymenko said that the demand for engineering equipment has increased in the state, in particular for fortifications. The need for the use of large cranes with which you can disassemble rubble has also increased.
“Such two-hundred-ton cranes work in Kharkiv. Specific equipment that works at height and makes it possible to quickly cut reinforced concrete and iron beams that have fallen and collapsed, for example, some critical infrastructure objects. This must be done quickly so that energy companies can resume the activities of this or that facility,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stressed.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko said that at the meeting of the Congress of local and regional authorities it was announced that we are launching our production, where together with our international partners we will be able to meet the needs of equipment for the SNS.
“These two years we have taken equipment from our international partners, for which they are very grateful. But now, together with the Europeans and the Japanese, we are launching our production in order to become the country that can intelligently and productively close the problems facing it,” Ihor Klymenko summed up.
