Igor Klymenko: In order to quickly demine Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs increases the number of sappers and conducts negotiations on special equipment
“Today, the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs carries out exclusively operational demining so that our citizens can return to their homes. There is also demining of the territory under power lines and roads in de-occupied territories. We do this every day,” the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko said on the air of the all-Ukrainian television marathon “Yenyi Novosti”.
In the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs there are 210 pyrotechnic calculations - this is 1100 people. In total, 1900 pyrotechnicians have been trained to date. It is also planned to prepare at least 1000 sappers next year.
“At the same time, I want to say that now we are using 350 units of special equipment, but the more de-occupied territories that need to be exchanged, the more people we need, and the more we need equipment, and any international help we need in this. Therefore, we are already making appropriate calculations together with our international partners so that they clearly know what kind of assistance Ukraine needs in order to exchange our lands as quickly as possible,” the Minister said.
