Igor Klymenko honored the memory of the victims of the Medininkai shooting
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klimenko, together with the heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Finland and Norway, honored the memory of the victims of the Medininkai shooting on the border with Belarus.
“On July 31, 1991, Soviet special forces committed a terrorist attack - killing seven soldiers who were serving on bail. This provocation was intended to intimidate Lithuania, which had just regained Independence. Instead, it united citizens even more and gave determination to continue to fight for freedom,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs wrote in his Telegram channel.
According to the Minister, recalling these events, Lithuanian government officials draw an analogy with the current invasion of Ukraine by Russian occupiers. The terror that the Kremlin is committing again is called the agony of the totalitarian regime.
