In Ukraine today, June 29, large-scale special exercises aimed at preparing for a possible terrorist attack on the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant began. According to the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Telegram channel, such events take place in three regions — Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson.

Igor Klymenko said that about eight thousand people are involved in these events. In particular, these are local authorities, law enforcement officers, volunteers, doctors and representatives of all services of state authorities who are responsible for the general system of civil protection.

In addition, about 350 units of special transport and 400 buses were involved for evacuation.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine noted that in each settlement there are evacuation teams, which consist of representatives of local authorities and the National Police of Ukraine. They ensure the movement and accompaniment of our citizens to safe areas. There are also about 200 additional patrols of the National Police along the routes to ensure that there are no traffic jams and evacuation vehicles can move smoothly.

“We understand that the Zaporizhzhya NPP occupied by the enemy today represents a huge danger from a man-made point of view, especially for citizens of Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions. But we are working out all possible scenarios, for example, that the radioactive cloud can go further, to any region of our country,” said Igor Klymenko.

He noted that these studies are close to real events. The legend is a leak of radiation from one of the power units of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informed that within the framework of training activities, control and sanitary posts have been deployed to check the transport leaving the settlements. There is equipment for measuring the radiation background, and inspection and processing of cars and evacuated people is also carried out.

“Despite the fact that the enemy is nearby, we understand that we must be prepared for any of his intentions. We will come to the aid in time, the authorities will respond to any challenges,” Ihor Klymenko summed up.
