Igor Klymenko: Implementing the project “Countering domestic violence”, which became part of the concept of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “Safe Country”, we pay special attention to prevention and counteraction
“War definitely has a negative impact on society in various aspects. One of them is security in homes. Psychological stress, emotional pressure, separation of families, unemployment, etc., aggravate the situation with domestic violence in the country,” the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko wrote in his Telegram channel.
In 2021, police registered more than 325 thousand reports of domestic violence, in 2022 their number decreased to almost 244 thousand. Fixed a decrease. This year, in 8 months, we already have more than 192 thousand messages.
The Minister also said that in implementing the project “Countering domestic violence”, which became part of the concept of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “Safe Country”, we place special emphasis on prevention and counteraction:
⁃ increasing the number of specialized mobile groups;
⁃ strengthen control over offenders;
• Implement alternative reporting tools for domestic violence.
“The home should remain a place where everyone feels safe. Even in the most difficult times. And this is possible only when the state and society side by side counteract threats,” Ihor Klymenko summed up.
