Igor Klymenko on the results of the rescue operation after the explosion by the occupiers of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power plant: day seven
“We are now located in one of the districts of the city of Kherson. In this place yesterday there was water about half a meter. Today it has receded and we can already be on dry cobblestones. And we state that the evacuation measures are already stable at the moment,” said the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko.
He also added that utilities have already begun work. In the coming hours and days, we expect technicians from other regions of our state and workers of the housing and communal services to take appropriate measures after all the water comes out of the streets. And gas supply workers are working, electricity supply is being restored.
“We hope that even before the weekend, a lot of citizens of the settlements of the Kherson region and the city will receive gas supplies and light in their homes,” the Minister said.
Unfortunately, there is also disappointing news from the retreat of water: “We have 2 more victims. Elderly woman and man born in 1972. Thus, there are currently 10 dead. It is in the city of Kherson and the Kherson region. Unfortunately, the more we pump water now, the more we expect to see the grief that this terrorist attack brought by the enemy,” says Igor Klymenko.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs drew attention, in particular, to the fact that all relatives of our citizens, who are now considered missing, should contact the authorities of the National Police of Ukraine and also pass an appropriate DNA test so that we can then compare these biological samples of relatives.
An important result of this day of rescue operation was the fact that additional police teams began work in Kherson region to document flooding of personal property of citizens.
In addition, Igor Klymenko once again noted that the Headquarters for the elimination of consequences of the explosion of the Kakhovsk hydroelectric power plant works around the clock. All services work hard and clearly understand the sequence of actions and coordination of work in order to restore peace and well-being to our citizens in the near future.
