This was emphasized by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klimenko during a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Ukraine Kaymo Kuusko.

Also during the event, the parties discussed strengthening the Defense Forces of the country through the formation of the “Guard of Offensive”, rehabilitation of wounded personnel and employees, as well as the formation of a security environment in Ukraine.

First of all, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs expressed his gratitude to the Estonian side for the comprehensive support:

“Thank you for being with us since the beginning of the war. Today, Ukraine faces the same challenges as a year ago. First of all, together we must do everything possible to bring victory as soon as possible.”

He stressed that the Ministry would like friendly countries to be able to provide for themselves the security that we now dream of, so soon a war criminal base will be ready, which we will share with foreign colleagues.

“Today there are 218 thousand people in this base. These are former and current citizens of Ukraine. Those who live in the temporarily occupied territories: Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions,” said Igor Klymenko.

The Minister stressed that first of all these are representatives of state authorities, law enforcement and illegal military formations. We are also talking about 172 thousand representatives of the Russian military leadership and representatives of the armed forces of the Russian Federation.

In the context of the formation of the “Guard of Offensive”, Igor Klymenko said that currently the Ministry of Internal Affairs is preparing 8 combat brigades as part of the National Guard, the National Police and the Border Service. As early as April 1, police and border brigades will be 100% staffed.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Ukraine Kaimo Kuusk assured that the Estonian side is ready to assist in staffing and training these brigades.

For his part, Igor Klymenko spoke about the plans for work on improving the provision of medical care: “We are developing new approaches in the provision of medical care for our servicemen. Since the beginning of the war, 11 thousand soldiers from the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have been wounded. And the higher the intensity of the fighting, the more wounded our border guards, guards and policemen.”

He assured that we will change approaches to military medicine precisely in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This applies to doctors, their training and directly working in medical and rehabilitation institutions. We are also developing programs for the socialization of the wounded, this work will be part of the system of creating a safe environment of our state.

At the end of the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of training Ukrainian representatives for further implementation of security projects. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary stressed that the Republic of Estonia is ready to continue to actively support the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for the speedy victory.
