Igor Klymenko: At this moment, the largest number of volunteers enrolled in the brigades of the National Guard
In total, more than 8 thousand volunteers have applied to the “Guard of Offensive” today. All of them will be interviewed and tested. This was stated on the air of the Unified News tele-marathon by the Acting Minister of Internal Affairs.
“At this point, the largest number of volunteers enrolled in the National Guard, but there are more brigades. The National Guard has six brigades, in the National Police - one and so far one - in the State Border Guard Service. The set will last 60 days. This is not a sustainable process, we conduct an interview with each volunteer, a military-medical commission, check his physical and mental abilities and conduct special checks. Because those persons who go to the service cannot have criminal convictions,” said Igor Klymenko.
He noted that recruitment takes place on the principle of an individual approach.
“The volunteer who fills out the questionnaire comes to the ASAP, on the website or on the “hotline”, he writes a specialization and chooses the brigade himself. When he comes to the interview, the volunteer says that he can control a tank or a BTRO, or he is a sniper, or he is a doctor. We individually approach each. In addition, if a volunteer chooses reconnaissance — we test him, if a mortar unit — he will learn to fire a mortar,” the acting interior minister said.
Igor Klymenko also added that the “Guard of Offensive” will be focused on the liberation of the territory:
“We will work on the offensive. While the Armed Forces defend the borders, we are preparing to liberate our territories.”
