Igor Klymenko: The Ministry of Internal Affairs has started the formation of assault brigades “Guard of Offensive”
Assault brigades, which can be joined by volunteers, are aimed specifically at strengthening the Defense Forces and liberating the occupied territories of Ukraine. This was stated on the air of the Unified Telemarathon by Acting Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko.
“The decision to create assault brigades was made by our workers, who have enough ferocity to beat the enemy. Many of our servicemen, who have defended and are defending our country, came out with the initiative to recruit people into such units. Therefore, it was decided that all those who wish, who are a patriot, who lost their homes or relatives due to the war, be united into such brigades. We have already begun to form such units, which are aimed at liberating our territories and becoming internationally recognized borders. This is our closest goal,” said Igor Klymenko.
He said that the basis of these units will be active policemen, border guards, national guards.
“First of all, these are people who went through the cauldron of 2014-2015, some of whom fought already in 2022. Some of them are wounded. The units will consist exclusively of volunteers who are driven by patriotism and there are a lot of such people in our state,” said Igor Klymenko.
According to him, a person who wants to join the “Guard of Offensive” can submit a corresponding application on the website storm.mvs.gov.ua, where all the brigades that are equipped are presented. You can choose the brigade in which a person wants to serve, whether it is the brigade of the National Police “Fury”, or the brigades of the State Border Service “Steel Border” or six brigades of the National Guard. Or another option — there is a hotline phone where you can consult and get information on where to come. Or submit a questionnaire through the Centers for the provision of administrative services, the list of CNAs is also presented on the website.
“You can register online by filling out a questionnaire and within an hour the operator will call back and advise which recruitment point to come to, there are already more than 140 of them in Ukraine. The addresses of these points are on the site, each volunteer can come to the nearest such point. Also, the candidate must pass the military medical commission, pass a psychological and physical test. After successful passage, he is enrolled in the brigade that he chose,” said the acting Minister of the Interior.
Klimenko also noted that for all the fighters of these brigades, the benefits that are available for servicemen and police officers are preserved.
“The military can go on contract or on mobilization, this applies to the State Border Guard Service and the National Guard. All benefits and social guarantees are maintained, in addition, we offer a decent salary. We also offer the opportunity to get a profession in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. And, of course, everyone will be able to dispose of the enemy,” Igor Klymenko said.
According to Igor Klymenko, there are a lot of people who are motivated and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will create all the conditions for volunteers who will come to these brigades, so that they are interested in their own growth.
“They will be among like-minded people. There will be quality commanders who have combat experience and guard personnel,” he said.
Training of brigade fighters will last several months: first individual, then as part of the unit and when the commander understands that the unit is ready, they will move on to combat tasks.
