The Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko held a working meeting with representatives of the Law Enforcement Division of the US Embassy in Ukraine (INL). On it, he said that at the behest of the President of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is preparing a voluminous document, the purpose of which is to form a new security environment in the country.

The Minister told the representatives of the embassy that today in Ukraine a comprehensive strategic plan is being formed to reform our law and order system — all law enforcement agencies and the prosecutor's office.

“The government is already preparing a plan of practical measures for this strategy. We are also working on our proposals. This will be a sufficiently voluminous document, because our law enforcement agencies must respond effectively to the challenges that will arise after the war. Also, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is preparing a draft law that will ensure the reliable functioning of the law enforcement system and ensure the safety of our citizens after the war,” Igor Klymenko said.

He also added that the Ministry of Internal Affairs invites international colleagues, organizations and INL directly to cooperate. After all, as a result, there should be a separate law signed by the President and there will be a plan of measures concerning the formation of a security environment in general.

As a result of the success, the parties agreed on cooperation and further consultations. In particular, the Minister assured the American colleagues of INL that in two weeks they will be presented with the developments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the formation of a security environment.

Recall that the comprehensive strategic plan for reforming our system of law and order, approved by President Volodymyr Zelensky, aims to answer the question of which Ukraine we are building after the war. A country that respects its people and that is respected in the world. A country whose example of life is respected by all. The path to this begins now. It begins in the actions, personal decisions of each and everyone who fights, works for Ukraine and for all Ukrainians.

Every element of the state system — law and order first and foremost — must work in such a way that people really feel safe and secure. Law enforcement and the prosecution system are key in this.
