Igor Klymenko: We plan to increase the number of sappers to 2800
He noted that there are about 2 thousand sappers in the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“This is in the SNS, and in the National Police and the National Guard. We plan to increase their number to 2800,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
He also reminded that the State Emergency Service operates the Interregional Center for Humanitarian Demining and Rapid Response.
“There, among other things, sappers are trained. Over the past year, we have already trained almost 1000 specialists in demining,” said Igor Klymenko, adding that in two years of full-scale war, the specialists of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have already detected and destroyed more than 780 thousand explosive objects.
