Igor Bondarenko: Belarusian border guards understand that Ukraine is not preparing an attack, but defending its border
As noted by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Bondarenko, in contrast to the actions and aggressive propaganda statements of the Belarusian military-political leadership, ordinary border guards have an understanding that Ukraine is not preparing an attack, but defending its border.
At the moment, Russia uses the territory of Belarus as a springboard for the deployment of aggression. In particular, aircraft carrying out missile attacks on Ukrainian cities take off from Belarusian airfields. The leadership of Belarus actually leased their country to meet the needs of the Russian army. However, the soldiers of the border agency of Belarus, who serve on the border with Ukraine, show understanding of the situation and support to their Ukrainian colleagues.
“Belarusian servicemen, moving through their territory, along the forest road, were the first to give military greetings. Ordinary military personnel who directly carry out service close to our positions on our common borders, they are adequate. And this gesture, which they made, in military, and even more so in border language, says that they do not support all this (the position of the country's leadership), that they have respect for their (Ukrainian) colleagues,” Ihor Bondarenko stressed.
