How to warn against scammers who call and offer to win
To register a win, fraudsters can ask for personal information — last name, first name, place of residence, etc. After receiving the data, fraudsters report that the winner's data has been recorded and that they will be contacted after processing them.
After a few days, the attackers call again and report that the data has been processed and the winner received a win, but in order to receive it, you need to buy household or other goods for a certain amount of funds, the amount can vary from 600 to 1200 hryvnia.
If a person agrees to buy a product, she is offered to pick it up at the nearest branch of Nova Poshta and pay accordingly for this product, only then the person will allegedly be able to receive his winnings.
At the request of a person, fraudsters refuse to first receive a win or pay the value of the goods at the expense of a part of the winnings. Of course, fraudsters do not intend to pay any winnings, but simply try to scam funds from gullible people.
How to avoid such a fraud scheme?
Do not disclose your personal data to third parties, as fraudsters can use it for further schemes. Before reporting your personal data, remember when you participated in the sweepstakes. If you can't remember it, they are 100% scammers.
If you have doubts about the win, find out more details about the legal entity that offers you the winnings, ask for the legal address, other contacts, the EDRPO code, etc. Check the legal entity for the data obtained, usually all information is fictitious and does not correspond to reality, which will easily help to understand what scammers are calling.
