How not to become a victim of domestic violence: what threatens attackers
Every year, about 600 women die from domestic violence. Therefore, everyone should know the first signs of an abusive relationship and be able to counteract them. After all, it is known that offenders can be not only men, but women. In addition, the abusion is fixed not only between married couples, but also between relatives.
A man who bullied his mother will appear before the court in Kyiv. The attacker was repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility for insults and threats against the 64-year-old mother, but did not stand in the way of correction. Investigators completed the pre-trial investigation and sent the indictment to the court. Now for the committed offender can spend two years in prison.
A woman contacted the Shevchenko police department and reported that her son was committing domestic violence against her. The applicant said that he insulted her with insults and
humiliates.Employees of the domestic violence sector repeatedly brought the 44-year-old abuser to administrative responsibility.
At the moment, the investigators have completed the pre-trial investigation and sent the materials of the criminal proceedings together with the indictment to the court for consideration of the case on the merits. For the committed offender is threatened with up to two years in prison.
Investigators also informed a resident of Kharkiv region about the suspicion of systematic domestic violence. The attacker constantly insulted the elderly mother and threatened physical abuse.
An 84-year-old woman repeatedly contacted the police department No. 1 of the Izyum RUP. She reported constant insults from her 54-year-old son. District police officers drew up 3 protocols regarding the offender on an administrative offense provided for in Art. 173-2 (committing domestic violence, gender-based violence, failure to comply with an urgent prohibition order or failure to notify the place of his temporary stay) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. However, the man did not stop and continued to commit domestic violence against the woman.
Investigators opened criminal proceedings under Art. 126-1 (domestic violence) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
On September 20, investigators under the procedural leadership of the Izyum District Prosecutor's Office informed the man of suspicion of committing a crime. The sanction of the article provides for a maximum sentence of up to 2 years in prison.
