Service dogs are real professionals in their field, without which no unit of border protection can do. They sniff out weapons, drugs and cigarettes, and even momentarily detain intruders.
“Specially trained dogs are indispensable helpers for border guards in the fight against illegal activities at the border. The effectiveness of detecting prohibited objects and substances is many times greater thanks to tailed helpers. If you guard the border, then only in a pair with a four-legged partner,” said border guard Oleksandr Stepanyuk.
Alexander began serving in the ranks of border guards as a draughtsman in 2002. Then he decided to combine the love of animals with service and became a dog trainer. He says that you can't find a better partner in the service.
