I went to fight because I saw what Yana had always seen: a military man with the callsign Hare about his fighting path and the influence of his sister
Vladislav, brother of the People's Hero of Ukraine, a famous Kharkov volunteer, machine-gunner, woman-warrior Yana Chervona, who died heroically on the Svitlodar Arc.
Currently, Vlad is undergoing rehabilitation in Kharkiv after a back injury, where he managed to communicate with him and write down memories of the battles and the military journey.
“Janka was like a second mother to me. I was 5 years younger, I followed her everywhere, all her hobbies, girl problems, novels — I shared everything,” Vlad recalls.
“When Yana started volunteering, we didn't understand her. They said that the war is far away, the state should be engaged in providing the army. But you can't argue with her, this is Janka, she has more courage than many men. She worked as a conductor, she could throw the deboshier off the trolleybus herself,” she continues to recall her sister.
It should be noted that Yana Chervona organized the volunteer group “Wild Volunteers of Aidar”, collected aid, traveled to the front line, had great authority in the volunteer environment.
In 2016, she went to serve in the 54th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, then transferred to the 46th OSP “Donbas — Ukraine”.
“All of us, family and friends were shocked. A woman, two children — and becomes a machine gunner. You have to give birth, and you go to war. They did not understand her at all. But she said, like, there is a war, don't you see? If we do not keep the enemy, he will come to our house. She was right, we were blind or did not want to see simply. That's what happened,” Vlad summarizes.
The military tells how they called and told that Yana was no longer there, as a thirst for revenge appeared. He himself asked for Yana's battalion, but her brothers refused him, because they had to fight with a cold head, explained that crazy feelings only interfere with performing combat tasks. So Vlad stayed to work, but knew there would still be a chance for revenge.
“From the first days of the invasion, I knew that I would not be sitting at home. We formed a detachment in Pisochin, were on duty at checkpoints, but weapons were not given to us in the military enlistment office, and I decided to go to fight in the theroboron. We defended Kharkiv together with other forces,” recalls Hareets.
After two months of fighting and purges, during which the terrorists acted together with military personnel, Vlad decided to join the ranks of the NGU.
“Here, order and discipline are many times more. The call sign was taken by the Hare, because it is fast, while everyone is thinking — I have already acted,” the military said.
In addition, the guard told about the first battles and stripping near Balaklea, the liberation of Izyum, the taking of the Estuary. Separately, he focused on the memories of the famous Kharkiv artist, musician, artist and architect Anton Derbilov, who from the first days of the war voluntarily came to the 5th Slobozhanskaya Brigade of the NGU and, unfortunately, died in April this year near Kreminna.
Vlad also adds that everyone has relaxed again, many people have returned to Kharkiv, in the evening there is music in restaurants, people live a peaceful life.
“They sit, drink, laugh, think that the war is over, that it will not affect them. I was like that too. They just didn't have their Janka. They are blind like me then. Everything can come back again, Kharkov can again be under siege, if we do not understand that everyone has to fight or help. Janka always understood that. I felt much later. It is sorely lacking,” the military said.
Recall that Yana Chervona under the pseudonym Witch died on April 2, 2019 as a result of mortar and artillery shelling with 152-mm caliber howitzers of the unit's positions. Yana Krasnaya had a son and daughter (10 and 8 years old). For the personal courage shown in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people, People's Hero of Ukraine Yana Chervon was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree (posthumously).
