In early February 2024, the Guards of the Offensive in Ukraine celebrated the first anniversary of the creation of the Guard of the Offensive. 10 assault brigades with different creation stories, slogans, tasks. But with a common goal — victory.

Legendary Azov, Stormy, Kara-Dag, Fury, Revenge, Frontier, Spartan, Steel Frontier, Red Viburnum and Charter. The Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a large-scale recruitment campaign, thousands of volunteers decided to join the assault brigades.

YEAR OF STRUGGLE

“A year ago, we launched large-scale recruitment: in military units, police departments and CNAPs. Thousands of volunteers responded and joined experienced soldiers,” the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko wrote in his Telegram channel.

Together they showed themselves in the hottest areas of the front: Robotyne in Zaporizhia, Bakhmut and Klishchivka in Donetsk region, Serebryansk forestry in Luhansk region, Kup'yansk in Kharkiv region.

“National guards, border guards and police brigades continue to defend their homeland. We must win! Glory to Ukraine!”, - emphasized Igor Klymenko.

► HOW IT ALL BEGAN

On the second anniversary of the full-scale war, the Ministry of Internal Affairs launched a special project in which it tells about each of the brigades of the Guards of the Offensive.

Exclusive footage from training, videos of the destruction of the invaders from the front, and most importantly - the stories of those who volunteered to defend Ukraine and joined the assault brigades.

► BOOK ABOUT THE GUARD On the day of the Ukrainian volunteer

on March 14, the Ministry of Internal Affairs presented the art book “Guard of the offensive. The seer.”

The idea of creating the book belongs to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko, and its author was a soldier of the National Guard of Ukraine - Timur Nagalevsky. The book was published with the support of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Inna Yashchuk told those present at the presentation of the book to cadets of higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs that this novel is about those heroes whose stories it is important not to lose, hear and see:

“At this time of trial, when we are in a relentless movement of defending our rights and freedoms, it is extremely important not to relax, not to despair and to be one whole already in the third year of a full-scale war. Some people really want it. But the kind of people that are written about in the book, they don't allow us to do that. This book “comes in” in just one breath. This novel is about our heroes.”

Author Timur Nagalevsky emphasized that the work has an artistic military-historical format:

“The main idea of the book is that history is a weapon. Those in the military are creating the latest story. And the main character of the book is a mature man, a representative of the middle class, who was changed by a full-scale war and he joined the Ukrainian army.

The pages of the publication are decorated with illustrations by Darya Kopiyka, who together with the author of the book went to the soldiers to get to know each other personally, learn about their life before a full-scale war, about their preferences and dreams. As a result, the designer managed to put in each poster the hidden meanings and a piece of the soul of each of the main characters of the book.

“Every item on the posters is important. Sunflowers, musical notes, birds, sprigs of sakura, images of native cities, colors are all drawn from the heroes who became the heroes of our collages and books, in particular. I lived a little life with everyone”, - shared artist Daria Kopiyka.

During the presentation, the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the three fighting heroes of collages. They were “Major” from the Steel Frontier Brigade, “Pehan” from Lutia, and “Deputy” from the Spartan Brigade. The men shared how the war began for them, about the first combat losses among their brothers and what helps to go forward now. Each of them is a volunteer who changed his peaceful life for the sake of fighting for Ukraine.

The work is planned to be distributed in the libraries of educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and now the book “Guard of the offensive. The Observer” can also be seen at The London Book Fair International Book Fair in the UK.

►CREATING A NEW OFFENSIVE BRIGADE

On April 30, on the Day of the Border Guard of Ukraine Igor Klymenko announced the creation of the third combat brigade of the DPSU - “Gart”.

He congratulated the border guards on a professional holiday. He stressed that they bravely showed themselves in the fighting in 2014. And until now, the border detachments and the formed combat brigades of the Guards of the Steel Border and Revenge Offensive continue to beat the enemy, demonstrating remarkable strength and endurance.

The Minister noted that it is symbolic on the Day of the Border Guard to announce the creation of the third combat brigade of the State Border Service - “Gart”, whose fighters are already strengthening the Defense Forces on the eastern borders.

“The defense of the island of Zmiiny, Mariupol, the battle for Kiev, the liberation from the invaders of the North of Ukraine and the Kharkiv region are only part of the heroic opposition that continues to this day. This is not an easy but worthy path that leads us to the goal of reaching the borders of 1991. To a safe and peaceful Ukraine,” said Igor Klymenko.

Recruitment to the Guard of the Offensive continues. You can apply, test yourself and stand in defense of Ukraine on the official page of the Offensive Guard at the link
