The guard saved the life of a fellow soldier from the Armed Forces
A combat vehicle of the Armed Forces of Ukraine ran into an anti-tank mine. This happened in mid-May. One of the crew members then suffered a serious injury to his right leg. Fortunately, there were guards nearby.
“It's a real miracle that they got to us,” says National Guardsman Max. “They came back from real hell. They no longer had anything with them: no first aid kit, no water. An armed forces officer was wounded there. I put a tourniquet on him, injected painkillers and hemostatic drugs. On the way to the hospital, he constantly maintained contact so that the person would not faint.”
In the end, the wounded remained alive, besides, it was possible to save his limb. Max, who provided first aid, received the insignia of the NGU — “For Valorous Service”.
It should be added that during the fierce fighting in Donetsk region, the group, where Max is the eldest, retained its combat capability, successfully eliminated many enemy infantry and held its positions.
The full-scale invasion of Russia did not come as a surprise to the serviceman. At that time, he had served in the National Guard for six years and saw perfectly what the occupiers were capable of.
“A week before we heard the explosions at four in the morning, I was preparing myself for the fact that the invasion was about to begin. On February 24, I was in positions near Ekaterinovka. At night there was still silence, and in the morning they began to “pour” with GRAD and mortars,” says Max. “When we formed a battle group and drove to the front positions, there were options just not to reach them. In essence, our destinies depended on our professionalism and military fortune.”
Max is in good physical shape. He tries to constantly maintain her thanks to a balanced sports diet and training - he is engaged in Thai boxing.
The guard is an indigenous resident of Slavyansk and a wonderful family man. He misses his children very much and it is for them that he courageously maintains fighting positions in his native Donetsk region.
