Guard pet Malinois Jasmine: about the features of the breed, training and training of the Belgian Shepherd
Jasmine is a smart, energetic and active Belgian Malinois Shepherd. A little over a year ago, she appeared as a small and inquisitive puppy in one of the units of the National Guard. The dog was given to the guards by volunteers to carry out service and help the soldiers fight enemies and criminals, to ensure law and order on the streets of the city.
As the mentor Jasmine, senior trainer of the canine platoon Vladislav Sholokhov, tells, his four-legged companion during his time in the military unit not only grew and strengthened physically, but also acquired the skills necessary for full service in the army and became a real service dog. Jasmine's specialization is the search for explosives.
“Our Jasmine is an extremely capable, intelligent and easily trainable dog,” says Vladislav. “She is interested in learning new things, she is surprisingly active, energetic, grasps everything “on the fly” during training and learns new skills very quickly. This is due to both her genetic data and personal set of qualities. Malinois dogs are physically hardy, intelligent, easy to perceive educational material. If you properly raise such a dog from childhood, then it will grow into a faithful and good friend, a strong defender. And specifically Jasmine is also very friendly, cheerful, hardworking. When it is necessary to fulfill the task, it takes it seriously, responsibly and does everything “perfectly”.
Vladislav took up the upbringing of Jasmine about a year ago, after he, being a conscript soldier, signed a contract and became a professional military man. He says that he decided to link life with army service after the start of a full-scale invasion.
“Served conscription in the dog platoon. I love animals very much, I like to work with dogs, train them. And also because your dog is not only your companion and pet, but also a loyal, loyal friend for many years to come. And during the war, for our fastest victory, we want and need to be as useful and qualitative as possible to do what you do best, - the guy shares. - Therefore, together with our service dog, we carry out the tasks. Jasmine and I have a complete understanding both during training, directly at the service, and in the free time that we love to spend together. She is reliable, responsible, she likes fun games in which you need to look for something. And she is also very attentive, by gestures and facial expressions she is able to catch the slightest changes in my well-being. In general, after a hard day, the mood is very uplifting, although it requires, due to natural excessive activity, constant movement and daily physical activity.”
Vladislav says that Malinois is the owner of the same strong character as her body. This is a wonderful bodyguard, forever devoted to its owner. The Belgian Shepherd can make decisions on its own, but at the same time it is important to pay a lot of attention to it and show your love.
After completing the courses on mastering and consolidating the skills and skills necessary for the service dog, the Malinois began to directly perform the assigned service tasks.
Now Vladislav and Zhasmin protect public order in the city of permanent dislocation. As part of the guard patrol, they monitor offenders and prevent crimes in the evening and at night. There, Jasmine fully demonstrates in practice the skills acquired during exercises and daily training, which significantly improves the quality of performance of service tasks and is a significant support, assistance and full-fledged combat unit in the unit.
