Guards burned MTLB of Russian occupiers
Ukrainian defenders demonstrated the burned Russian MTLB. They also told how it was destroyed and why they need it now.
Modern warfare is a remote artillery and missile meat grinder, full of sensors, drones and artificial intelligence. However, there is still room for face-to-face contact, because one has to maintain defenses around the perimeter of the cities, risking their own lives, stopping enemy troops, reconnaissance groups, or even columns of equipment that have broken through artillery fire and engineering obstacles. Telling evidence of this — burnt “bones” of armored monsters on the outskirts of Kharkov — remains a lot. One such “dinosaur” — the MTLB of the invaders — can still be seen among the small pine trees of one of the local forest farms.
“It was MTLB “DNR”. On it was an image of the colors of the so-called “republic”, the letters “DNR”, and their “coat of arms”, — guard Dmitry conducts the tour. What he narrates is not surprising, because we have a lot of testimonies and evidence of the utilization by the occupiers of the mobilized inhabitants of the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk region in the entire theater of hostilities from Bucha to Kherson. In this way, they try to draw the maximum number of Ukrainian citizens into the bloody “circular guarantee”, which is a war crime and one of the forms of genocide. Meanwhile, the guard shows a badly burned car with a torn caterpillar, which has managed to catch the rust well.
In the middle, in fact, only some metal objects remained, such as sleeves, cutlery, thermoses — everything else burned out.
“She was the first in a column of three vehicles. It was about eleven o'clock in the evening. This MTLB approached, and we opened fire on it. Then [the occupiers] were confused, and began to fly with all their might to our rear, and when they had passed two hundred meters, they ended up here in the field, and the rest of the machinery just turned around at the crossroads and went away. After observing a little from the forest strip, we fired from RPG 7-V [on MTLB],” Dmytro recalls
The shot turned out to be accurate. It turned out that a small hole — only two thin fingers — was visible from the right side of the rear part of the MTLB rear part of the Russian occupiers.
“This is where the RPG shot hit. And the cumulative jet burned a hole in the armor and detonated the ammunition in the car. It was not clear whether there were people there or not, but later, as you could see, there are human remains there [a piece of tibia],” explains Dmitry.
He adds that it is unlikely to be possible to repair the transporter, but it has repeatedly served as a false target for enemy artillery and thereby saved the lives of the defenders of Kharkov. The guard also added that those occupiers who managed to escape abandoned their equipment a little later, and it got to the Ukrainians unharmed.
At one time, this MTLB [Russian abbreviation, meaning multi-purpose transporter (tractor) light armored] was assembled at the Kharkiv Tractor Plant back in the Soviet era. This sample of equipment was adopted in 1964, produced up to ten thousand pieces, sixteen countries (even NATO countries) became its operators. But he found his death, a little short of reaching the place where he was “born”. Such is the irony of fate.
