NGU grenade launchers: When we are not fighting, we learn new things and train skills to beat the occupier even better
Lessons of guard calculations SPG-9 and RPG-7 took place in Kharkiv region. It was attended by fighters of one of the battalions of the 5th Slobozhanska Brigade.

“I understand that in combat conditions there is not always time to understand the nuances. However, I advise you to pay attention to the markings on the ammunition and take into account the terrain in which the fighting is being fought. Let's say, the cumulative ammunition RPG-7 in the thick “greenery” will do you little good. It can detonate in such a way that it does not cause losses to the enemy, you only unmask yourself. Keep in mind that each type of ammunition has its own weight and trajectory. All these are written truths, but this must be constantly kept in your head. Especially if you have to shoot at a longer distance,” said one of the instructors.
Distance measurement is a key skill for a gunner. But it is equally important to identify the goals for which you are working. Sighting devices SPG-9 were developed to destroy tanks. These are quite tall cars. Therefore, if you need to work on MTLB, which is a smaller and lower target, we must take this into account when aiming”
Some of the soldiers are learning the specialty of grenade launcher only now. In particular, due to staff changes in the unit.
“Today I learned to shoot with SPG-9 direct guidance. I didn't think it was too complicated, because I used to work with the Fagot air defense plant. My targets were DOTs, dungeons where enemy infantry hid. Technically, I didn't have to beat because she wasn't there. There is now heavy fighting under Kreminna: infantry and artillery are pressing hard. As soon as we entered, it was quite quiet, but then we advanced ten kilometers, became entrenched and the Russians are still trying to get us out of here. Was there on two rotations for about three months. I have been in the brigade since February 2022, and we have a rather tight schedule: we fight, or we learn,” the participant of the guard class Oleksiy shared with us.
The guards of the 5th Slobozhanska Brigade destroy the Russian invaders on the eastern borders and desperately fight for the will and sovereignty of the Ukrainian lands and are a specific component of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
