Prepared the murder of a policeman and a deputy of the regional council: the police prevented the crime (VIDEO)
Law enforcement officers of the Poltava region detained intruders who were preparing the murder of a policeman and a deputy of the regional council. Members of the group prepared the assassination of the deputy head of one of the district administrations in the Dnipropetrovsk region and a deputy of the Poltava Regional Council.
The policeman was chosen as a victim because of his professional activities, and the deputy - in connection with public activities to combat the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. In order to realize the plan, the 48-year-old organizer, being a defendant in one of the criminal proceedings for the distribution of drugs, gave his son the task to undergo fire training in the shooting range. To implement the plan, other members of the group tracked the routes of movement of potential victims.
In the morning of February 14, police officers and SBU officers with the strong support of the special forces of the DSR, KORD GUNP in the Poltava region and employees of the SBU special unit preceded the attackers and detained them.
During the pre-trial investigation, the organizer and seven of his accomplices were identified, including his own son. The defendant's father created a criminal group with the aim of spreading criminal influence and extorting funds from citizens. The members of the group were acquaintances of the son, who had good physical training.
Members of an armed criminal gang created artificial property conflicts and demanded funds from citizens. During 2023, accomplices killed one person. It was a man who came into conflict with members of the group. Before the murder, those involved carefully prepared and studied the routes of movement. Later, the man was shot with a hunting rifle. The second victim could be a man who sold this rifle to members of the group and gave evidence to the police about it. After arranging a chase, fire was opened on the victim's car, and when trying to escape, they tried to beat the man with batons, but he managed to escape.
The organizer, his son and another accomplice were reported on suspicion of:
- Art. 348 (Invasion of the life of an employee of a law enforcement agency, a member of a public formation for the protection of public order and the state border or a soldier);
- Art. 115 (Premeditated murder);
- part 1 tbsp. 255-1 (Establishment or dissemination of criminal influence);
- Art. 257 (Banditry);
- Article 189 (Requisition).
In the near future, the other five defendants will be handed a notice of suspicion.
