The main medical clinical center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received medical equipment from the Government of Japan
The transfer of the two operating tables was the result of a Grant Agreement under the Kusanone Program, which was signed between the Charitable Foundation “Mercy” and the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine, with the support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The event was attended by State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Inna Yashchuk, Head of the State Institution “Main Medical Clinical Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine” Ivan Yavorsky with his first deputy Lyudmila Okhrymenko, Liliya Boyko — Acting Director of the Department of Health of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Van Krasyuk is the head of UBF “Mercy”. On the Japanese side — Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Matsuda Kuninori, Counselor of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine and Head of the Economic Department Kotaro Tanaka and Aya Inaba — Second Secretary of the Economic Department, Nina Balikova — Coordinator of the Kusanone Grant Program.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Inna Yashchuk thanked the Japanese side for their support and handed a letter of thanks to Matsudi Kuninori, Ambassador Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine.
“We highly appreciate the support of the Government of Japan, which is provided in the medical field. Rescuing the injured and helping civilians is the business of our doctors, so cooperation and interaction is very important on this path,” Inna Yashchuk said in a welcoming speech.
In his turn, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Matsuda Kuninori noted that Japan is ready to further strengthen the medical capabilities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs so that the servicemen receive the proper care they deserve.
“We are not just handing over medical equipment, we are strengthening the partnership, which is important for the well-being and security of Ukraine. We will do our best to ensure that as many heroes as possible remain alive, thanks to improved medical care,” Matsuda Kuninori said.
According to the head of the Main Medical Clinical Center Ivan Yavorsky, the equipping of medical institutions with high-quality and modern surgical complexes is crucial today, and new operating tables make it possible to perform operations better and faster, helping to save as many lives as possible of our defenders.
As part of further cooperation, the Japanese guests were introduced to the problematic issues that exist in the Main Medical Clinical Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where many injured employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are undergoing treatment and rehabilitation. In particular, now operating units are constantly loaded, which need significant modernization and new lighting.
Foreign guests expressed their respect to the health workers of the institution and assured that Japan will continue to support Ukraine, both at the state level and locally.
