Peter Wagner, Head of the Foreign Policy Instruments Service of the European Commission, got acquainted with the work of pyrotechnic calculations of the State Emergency Service in Kyiv region
Today, October 19, the Head of the Foreign Policy Instruments Service of the European Commission Peter Wagner got acquainted with the work of pyrotechnic calculations of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv region.
Together with Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Mary Akopian and Deputy Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Dmitry Bondar visited Buchansky district. During the inspection at the demining site, they saw how pyrotechnics work with the “treasure” left by the Russian invaders. The specialists of the State Emergency Service successfully destroyed the F-1 hand grenade in the presence of guests.
It was examined what was seized earlier — anti-tank and mortar mines, shots to the “RPG”, ammunition for the RSFSR “Grad”, artillery shells of various calibers, etc.
The scale of pollution in the Kiev region was striking. After the de-occupation, pyrotechnics only in the Kiev region have already been able to examine:
- 21 thousand 255 hectares of territory, - in particular about 58 hectares of water area, - more than 71 thousand explosive objects have been detected and neutralized.
Strengthening the capacities of the units of the State Emergency Service, the possibility of providing pyrotechnic equipment and demining equipment were discussed. We are confident in the support of our European partners! There is a lot of painstaking work ahead.
