The head of the village council appropriated a million for the repair of the school: the police of Chernihiv region exposed the intruder
Police officers of the Chernihiv region have exposed the head of one of the village councils of Nizhyn district in a scheme to steal budget funds.
In 2021, the official entered into an agreement with a contractor for the overhaul of a local educational institution. Namely, the insulation of the facades, the basement and the attic floor in the school. Part of the repair work was not carried out at all, and part - was carried out in smaller volumes.
In addition, prices for a number of materials and works were overpriced. Despite this, the chairman of the village council still transferred budget funds in the amount of more than 6.4 million hryvnias to pay the contractor company. The actual total cost of the work actually performed is 5,4 million hryvnias.
In the future, in order to give legitimacy to his illegal actions, the official approved the act of replacing the volumes of work within the agreed price (without increasing the cost), which reduced the quantitative indicators of the volumes of work and increased the current prices for materials.
Law enforcement officers informed the attacker about the suspicion of appropriation and misappropriation of property by abuse of official position on a particularly large scale (c. 5. Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The defendant faces from 7 to 12 years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years and with confiscation of property.
