Head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine Serhiy Deineko met with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken: they discussed strengthening and further support of border guards

The head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Sergey Deineko met with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during his visit to Ukraine. They discussed already implemented projects to strengthen the capacity of border guards and further support.

On the basis of one of the units, the delegation of the US State Department and the US Embassy in Ukraine got acquainted with the tasks of the Border Agency and the assistance received by the State Border Guard Service in the framework of joint projects.

Serhiy Deineko thanked Anthony Blinken for the opportunity to personally visit the border guards and for the strong and consistent support of the people of Ukraine. He noted the high level of cooperation with the State Department and other US institutions with which 9 international technical assistance projects are currently being implemented.

“I am glad that we can work together to save lives despite all the horrors that Russian aggression carries with it. Now we are not just providing assistance, that is, not only to fight the Russian invaders today, we are also providing assistance so that you can build an effective Defense Force of the future,” Anthony Blinken noted.

He added that the State Department and the Law Enforcement Division of the US Embassy in Ukraine (INL) have been a partner of Ukraine for 20 years in a row and are delighted with the strength, resilience and courage of Ukrainian border guards.

“Without the help of international partners, including INL, our losses would have been much greater. Because from our partners, border guards received armor vests, protective helmets, etc., on time,” Serhiy Deineko stressed.

During the visit, the US Secretary of State demonstrated the equipment that was handed over to the border guards and which repeatedly saved the lives of the defenders of Ukraine. In addition, reviewing the transferred medical equipment, the US Secretary of State noted that he perfectly understands how important it is to provide medical care on time, because representatives of the State Department also undergo similar training in order to be able to provide first aid.

Delegates saw weapons, equipment, night vision devices and UAV complexes used in combat operations by border guards, wreckage of downed enemy strike drones and missiles, trophies captured from the enemy.

“Border guards are in all directions of hostilities. Together with other Ukrainian defenders, we liberate our territory, destroy the enemy and bring our common victory closer. And we will definitely win, thanks to your support,” the Head of the State DPSU stressed.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken noted an excellent organization in the use and application of assistance received by border guards from the United States of America. He personally got behind the wheel of the Roshel Senator MRAP armored car, which came to the units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine as part of the implementation of assistance projects.
