Hero rescuer: Oleksandr Prykhodko saved a child who fell under the ice
Every year, Ukraine celebrates the winners of the All-Ukrainian action “Rescuer Hero of the Year”. It was introduced on the Day of the Rescuer, which is celebrated on September 17. Thanks to this action, ordinary citizens who showed courage and heroism during the rescue of people, property, the elimination of fires, accidents, emergencies, natural disasters receive honors.
The action takes place with the participation of the President of Ukraine. This year, the winners of the All-Ukrainian action “Rescuer Hero of the Year” were seven residents of different regions of Ukraine.
One of the laureates Oleksandr Prykhodko is an employee of the Territorial Department of the Judicial Guard Service in the Poltava region. A 33-year-old man saved a drowning child.
On March 5, 2023, a boy of about 4 years old went out on the ice that was on the river and suddenly fell into the ice hole. Alexander's wife saw this, informed her husband and he reacted instantly.
“I rushed to his aid, ran, got him out of the water. After that, he took him to the shore, Maly was in a winter jumpsuit, which was wet. I brought the boy to the taxi in order to quickly send him home in the future,” recalls Alexander.
Thanks to the man's instant reaction, the child was not in the icy water for long and did not lose consciousness.
