GUARD OF THE OFFENSIVE. Formation and training
On February 2, 2023, the Ministry of Internal Affairs officially announced the formation of assault brigades of the “Guard of Offensive”. The task of these brigades is to strengthen the Defense Forces, liberate the occupied territories of Ukraine from Russian troops, fight against DRG and participate in stabilization measures in the de-occupied territories.
As of May 2023, the first 8 brigades have been formed, of which 6 are part of the National Guard of Ukraine, including:
➤ “Stormy”
➤ “Red viburnum”
➤ “Kara-Dag”
➤ “Frontier”
➤ “Spartan”
➤ “Azov”
➤ One brigade in the school of the National Police of Ukraine — the brigade “Fury”
➤ One brigade — State Border Guard Service of Ukraine — “Steel Border”.
At the beginning of the summer of 2023, the Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko announced the readiness of the “Guard of Offensive” for orders and announced the formation of the ninth brigade — “Charter”.
The basis of the “Guard of Offensive” is the active servicemen and employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with combat experience. The rest of the staff are highly motivated volunteers. All military brigades of the “Guard of the Offensive” constantly undergo training under the guidance of experienced instructors and improve their professional skills.
Soldiers of the “Guard of the Offensive” successfully perform combat tasks in all operational areas of the front line and daily inflict fire on the enemy in life force and equipment.
Thus, in September 2023, “Steel Border” fighters took control and raised Ukrainian flags in the settlements of Stroivka and Topol in Kharkiv region, which were previously in the so-called “gray zone”. And in November 2023, the soldiers of the Spartan brigade repelled the assault of the Russian army in the Zaporizhzhya direction and inflicted irreversible losses on the enemy's personnel.
The fighters of the brigades “Rubizh”, “Fury” and “Khartia” bravely fight in the Bakhmut and Avdievsky directions, the fighters of “Azova”, “Steel Border” and “Burevia” - hold the front line in the Serebryansk forest in the direction of Kreminna and Lyman, and fighters of “Spartan”, “Krasnaya Kalina” and “Kara-Daga” - in the Zaporizhzhya direction.
Each of the fighters is motivated and determined to liberate Ukraine from Russian invaders and reach the borders of 1991.
