The film “Police with DVB” — about the history and military reality of the unit, which stands guard over the authority of the National Police
The Internal Security Service of the National Police these days marked the 30th anniversary of its activity. On the occasion of the anniversary, a documentary film was created that tells about the formation and experience of the DVB, accumulated over three decades, and about the work in the conditions of the war, when the functionality of the unit's employees was transformed.
The idea of a unit that would expose “werewolves in shoulder straps” originated in the turbulent 90s, when newly emerged businessmen willingly gave bribes to law enforcement officers with meager salaries. Nikolay Cherevichny, who was the first head of the service, initiated the creation of a “militia in the militia”. To combat “werewolves in shoulder straps”, he proposed to endow the personnel inspection with the rights of operational-search activities.
However, the detection of law-enforcement officers who by their actions are trying to humiliate the work of a hundred thousand staff of the National Police is not the only direction of work of the internal security service. The unit conducts work to prevent crimes against police officers. After all, law enforcement officers during the performance of official duties, in particular, investigating the facts of corruption in state bodies, become victims of threats and attacks.
And on February 24 of this year, the functions of employees of the FIB expanded significantly. Exposure of collaborators, duty at the post block, evacuation of civilians and provision of humanitarian assistance — the internal security service of the police proved itself worthy in the conditions of war.
