Two dead due to collision of locomotive and tow truck: police investigate circumstances of accident in Odesa region
The accident occurred on July 14 at around eleven o'clock in the evening at a railway crossing in the village of Kulevcha.
Police previously established that the 55-year-old driver of the maneuver locomotive collided with a tow truck loaded with a Lexus car as its 67-year-old driver tried to cross a railroad crossing at a prohibited traffic light signal.
As a result of a traffic accident, the driver of the tow truck and his 62-year-old passenger died. The locomotive driver was not injured.
According to the Acting Chief of Police Department No. 1 of the Belgorod-Dnestrovsky District Police Department Andriy Mashchenko, investigators entered information in the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations under Part 2 of Article 286 (violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation by the person driving the vehicle that caused the death of the victim or caused grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
A number of examinations are assigned. The investigation is ongoing.
